Four things that have to be true before a figure goes up

Third, we have to be able to state in one plain sentence why the figure exists at all. In practice the reason is dull. A house stands empty between two long lets. A family gave up a three week booking in October and the operator would rather have somebody in the rooms. Fourth, the dates have to sit far enough ahead that you can arrange your own way there at a walk rather than a run. Getting to the place is yours to arrange with whoever carries you. Where reaching a stay involves a scheduled crossing, that crossing is held by the operating company under its own license and shows up on its paperwork, not on ours.

An empty board is the ordinary condition

Most weeks nothing clears all four tests, and the plain thing is to say so rather than pad the page. Thirteen places is a short catalogue and the companies behind them are small. A struck price sets today's figure beside a figure said to have applied earlier. The earlier one is the half you have no way of checking, and it is the half doing all the work. So each figure on this site stands by itself: a total for the whole stay and a per night figure next to it, in every one of the thirty nine cells, at seven nights, at twenty one and at fifty six. The arithmetic from there is yours to do.

Who sends the bill and who pays this office

Name a place and a length. We ask the operating company to hold those dates, send you back in writing exactly what it has said, and place the reservation once you tell us to. That company then bills you under its own terms and collects its own money, and a commission reaches this office once the weeks are over.
