This office arranges thirteen places, each offered at a week, three weeks or a season, with prices starting at $2,065 per person. The clauses below set out what the office does, which company holds the reservation once it is placed, and who sends you the bill. They apply from the moment a request arrives.

These terms cover every dealing between you and Slow Latitudes Bookings LLC, the company behind Slow Latitudes, an independent agency working from one office in Baton Rouge, East Baton Rouge, Louisiana. They are short enough to read in one sitting, and reading them before you send anything is ten minutes well spent.

The catalogue is thirteen places, each sold at three lengths: seven nights, twenty one nights and fifty six nights. Every one of the thirty nine cells on the matrix at all thirteen places at all three lengths carries its own price, because a week in a place and a season in the same place are two different products rather than one product stretched. The clauses here apply to all thirty nine of them alike, and they apply whether the figure involved is $2,065 or $12,421.

The two companies behind a stay

Two companies stand behind any stay arranged here, and keeping them apart explains most of what follows. The first is this office. It listens to what you want, works out which cell of the matrix fits it, writes the request, places it with the company that runs the property, and stays in the conversation until the paperwork is signed, then again afterward if something needs fixing.

The second is the operating company: the business that owns or manages the accommodation, opens and closes its own dates, sets its own house rules, and sends you the bill. Your money and your contract for the stay both go to that company. This office arranges. It does not operate, own, let or staff anything, and it holds no card details at any point in the process.

What each side agrees to

1. The company: Slow Latitudes Bookings LLC is the company behind Slow Latitudes. It is filed with Louisiana Secretary of State and works from a single office in Baton Rouge. Where these terms say the office, they mean that company. Where they say you, they mean the person sending a request, or the people a request is sent for.
2. Arranging is not operating: The office arranges stays and does not operate them. Each place in the catalogue is run by a separate company that owns or manages the property, holds whatever permissions its own country asks of it, opens and closes its own dates, and bills you directly. Every description here rests on what that company has told this office.
3. When these terms attach: They attach the moment you send a request through request a stay quote 24/7, write to the office by email, or call it about a particular place and length. Reading the catalogue commits you to nothing at all. A request is a question, and you are free to stop at any point before you sign what the operating company sends you.
4. No money moves through this office: The office takes no payment of any kind, at any stage. There is no checkout on this site, no deposit, no balance and no field anywhere that accepts a card. When money is due it is due to the operating company, on that company's terms, and paid straight to it. Anyone asking you to send money to this office is not this office.
5. How the office is paid: The operating company pays a commission once you have traveled and the stay is closed out. That is the whole of the income on a reservation, and it arrives after the fact rather than before it. The figure you are quoted comes from the operating company, and this office adds nothing to it and takes nothing out of it.
6. Prices are starting figures, per person: Every figure on this site is a starting price for one person for the length named, worked out on the usual occupancy for that property. Season, exact dates and the size of your party all move it. The number that counts is the one written into the offer the operating company sends you, confirmed at the point the reservation is made.
7. The three lengths: Seven nights, twenty one nights and fifty six nights are sold as three separate products of the same place, described at the three lengths set out side by side and priced in their own cells. Per night figures are printed beside the totals so you can do your own arithmetic. What each length includes is stated on the place page, and the choice between them is yours.
8. The operating company's terms govern the stay: Once you accept an offer, your contract for the stay is with the operating company and runs on the document that company issues: its payment schedule, its house rules, its window for changes, its window for cancellation. Where that document and this page disagree about the stay itself, that document governs. The office puts a copy in front of you before you are asked to sign.
9. Getting there is your own arrangement: Travel to the place and home again is arranged by you, with whoever you choose, and sits outside everything the office does. Where a stay includes a scheduled crossing as part of what the operating company provides, that company holds it under its own license and it appears in that company's paperwork.
10. Nothing here is graded or ranked: This office publishes nothing and issues no findings. It reviews nothing, scores nothing, ranks nothing and awards nothing, and there are no stars, no ratings and no testimonials anywhere on the site. Descriptions state what a property is, what the accommodation is like, and what a given length gets you. Where a thing is a matter of taste, the page says so rather than settle it for you.
11. What the office will not advise on: Entry rules are a matter between you and the authority that issues them, and this office does not advise on them. It gives no medical, legal, financial or tax advice, and it neither sells nor advises on insurance. Questions of that sort belong with somebody qualified to answer them, and the office will say so instead of guessing.
12. Accuracy, and reporting an error: Prices, dates, descriptions and pictures are checked with the operating company before they go up, and again whenever that company changes something. Mistakes still get through. Write to corrections@slowlatitudes.com with the page and the line, and it will be corrected or taken down. A figure that is plainly wrong is not an offer, and the office will tell you the real one rather than hold you to the error.
13. Availability of the site: The site is offered as it stands. It goes down for maintenance and occasionally for reasons nobody planned, and no promise is made that it will be reachable at any particular moment. Pages change as well: a place comes off the catalogue when its operating company stops taking work, and a price moves when that company moves it.
14. Liability and its limits: The office answers for the work it actually does, which is taking your request down accurately, placing it with the right company, and passing back what that company says. It does not answer for the conduct of the operating company, for weather, for a closure, for a transport company, or for money you commit outside the reservation. Where the office is liable, that liability is capped at the commission earned on the reservation concerned, and nothing in this clause touches liability that cannot be limited under the law named below.
15. Nothing is shipped: Everything the office sends you arrives by email. No goods, packages or printed documents go out by mail, so there is no delivery, no shipping charge and no returns process to run. Ending a reservation is a separate matter and is dealt with at the cancellation terms in full.
16. Use of the site: Read it, print it, keep a copy for your own use. The words, the photographs and the arrangement of both belong to the company. Do not copy them onto another site, and do not present yourself as this office or as connected to it. Automated collection heavy enough to slow the site for other readers will be blocked.
17. Governing law: These terms run under the law of Louisiana, and any dispute about them is heard in the courts sitting in East Baton Rouge. Your contract with the operating company is a separate agreement and runs under whatever law that company's own document names.
18. Changes to these terms: They are rewritten when the way the office works changes. The version standing on this page is the one that applies to a request sent while it stands, and a request already placed keeps the version that was up when it was placed. Ask if you want to know what moved, and you will be told plainly.
